Black candles and home accessories

Black has had a strong meaning in many cultures for centuries. The color black is often associated with mystery, darkness, but also with luxury. Black was once associated with superstitions, such as a black cat crossing the road. The expression "darkness of the Middle Ages" also has its association with black. Black was once feared, but today it has lost its original, even mystical meaning and is associated with luxury and professionalism.

The black color in the interior is usually not used as a dominant color, but as accents, which often give a bold look to tonally uniform rooms. Black candles are often such an accent.

There are many shades of black. The black color may have blue undertones, as in the color of the sky at night (so-called midnight blue). Muted, slightly gray undertones are characteristic of soot-colored black (used as a pigment since ancient times) or coal. Black can also take on a jet black shade or a shade corresponding to the shades of precious stones such as obsidian or onyx.
